Over my 40 years of sewing/quilting and 20 years of teaching experience, I've learned effective habits, helpful techniques, and practical methods that have helped my on my journey to becoming an expert in quilting. Now I want to share my love of quilting with you in a fun and friendly setting with my Quilting Focus Groups. In this beginner's focus group, I'm excited to share my knowledge with you and to be your guide and mentor on your quilting journey.

Have you asked yourself any of these questions while working on quilt or project?:

  • Should I prewash my fabric?
  • What's the difference between pressing and ironing?
  • Should I starch my fabric before cutting?
  • Which grainline is which, and when do I use them?
  • How do I set up my machine for piecing?
  • Which thread should I use?
  • Which needles should I use?
  • Why should I sew with a scant 1/4" seam?
  • Should I press my seams to the side or press them open?
  • Which sewing machine feet do I need?
  • Why are there ripples on my seams?
  • Why don't my points match up?
  • Why are my blocks the wrong size?

You're not alone! Join me in the Quilting Focus Group: The Basics. In this live, online 2 1/2 hour workshop, we'll dig deep into your questions and challenges, and I'll share practical solutions that you can apply to many different quilt patterns and projects.
