Chenille needles are perfect to use with specialty threads like silk and wool. Their long eye allows thread to pass through easily, and can prevent some specialty threads from shredding. I especially like to use them with Soie Perlee and other size 8 perle threads.

The tip is nice and sharp, which is perfect for piercing tightly woven fabric. They can be used for most hand embroidery and crewel work, especially those that require a sharp needle and a large, long eye.
